Justice U.P. Kekemeke of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama, Abuja, has convicted the Managing Director of Alliance Boots Limited, Henry Iloka, for forgery of documents and making false statements in connection with a consultancy contract under the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).
Justice Kekemeke delivered the judgment after the anti-graft agency, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), prosecuted Iloka on a four-count charge.
According to the ICPC, Alliance Boots Limited had secured a consultancy contract from the Federal Ministry of Environment for HYPREP Media and Public Relations services in Ogoniland valued at N182,721,000.
The agency accused Iloka of submitting forged documents as part of the company’s bid in an attempt to falsely present Alliance Boots Limited as a firm with previous contract experience with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
ICPC further alleged that Iloka made false statements to investigators during the probe into the contract award process.
