North Jersey town settles whistleblower lawsuit. Here's for how much - Bergen Record

Belleville settled a whistleblower lawsuit with a $250,000 payout to a former zoning official who claimed the township's mayor, Michael Melham, had attempted to deprive him compensation for attending board meetings, according to a copy of the agreement.

Approximately $100,000 of the settlement money will be paid out of Belleville's coffers with the rest covered by the municipality's insurance fund, according to Township Attorney Steven Martino.
