What’s Happening at Northern Transformer?
Northern Transformer Corporation (NTC), an Ontario-based manufacturer of power transformers, is investing nearly $207 million to build a new advanced manufacturing facility in Innisfil, marking its expansion into the high-voltage transformer market.
- The project will create 151 new jobs in the region
- Ontario is investing $10.5 million through the Invest Ontario Fund
- The federal government is contributing $6 million via FedDev Ontario
The announcement was made on September 18, 2025.

The facility is expected to support sectors such as data centres, steel manufacturing, and mining, and will source key components from Ontario-based suppliers. Construction is scheduled for completion by 2028.
