Nurse with ‘mountain of debt’ struck off for false bank shift claims - RCNi

Nurse Jodie Hunter was stuck off the NMC register for claiming payments from her trust for shifts she had not worked. The sister used a colleague’s log-in details to retrospectively assign unworked bank shifts to herself. This placed the colleague, a senior ward sister, under suspicion and cost the trust almost 3,000. Ms Hunter said she had a mountain of debt and was sorry for what she had done. She has been struck off the register with an 18-month interim suspension order to allow for an appeal.
