The denial was issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, in response to a post on an online platform that claimed the cabinet practiced a prostration ritual to placate the governor. The statement called the allegation a complete fabrication, labeling the allegations as a deliberate attempt to ridicule the executive and stir unnecessary tension within the state.
The government stressed that no commissioner or executive council member has ever been required to prostrate before Governor Abiodun. The claim that Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele himself repeatedly bows before the governor was similarly dismissed as absurd. According to the official statement, the only instance of a prostration that took place in the state was a voluntary display by local government chairmen during a confrontation associated with former Ijebu East Local Government Chairman Wale Adedayo's allegations.
