The Oklahoma Governor May 26 signed a law amending provisions related to the collection of income tax due by state employees for corporate income and individual income tax purposes. The law includes measures: 1) clarifying that the Tax Commission’s notification to state employees of noncompliance with income tax laws for any taxpayer includes the possibility of wage garnishment; and 2) eliminating language requiring state employees not in compliance with tax laws to receive a third notification before wage garnishment.
