OKLAHOMA CITY — Red Dirt Orthodontics has agreed to pay $583,090 to settle allegations that it knowingly and improperly billed the Oklahoma Medicaid program, SoonerCare, for orthodontic services.
The settlement resolves allegations that the provider submitted false claims for payment between March 18, 2022, and March 25, 2024, that falsely identified an Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) credentialed orthodontist as the provider for services that were actually rendered by an orthodontist who was not credentialed with OHCA and unauthorized to submit claims to SoonerCare.
“My investigative team worked carefully and extensively to recover these funds, and I’m grateful for their efforts,” Attorney General Gentner Drummond said. “I take all claims of fraud seriously and will hold accountable anyone who exploits the system.”
The investigation was handled by Assistant Attorney General Jamie Bloyd and Agent Daniel Shcolnik in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
