WILLIAMSPORT — The president judge of Snyder and Union counties has accused a criminal defendant from California and his media companies of embarking on a lie-filled attack aimed at destroying her.

Judge Lori Hackenberg made the accusations against Daniel Bozin of Beverly Hills and his Bozin Media Group and Bozin Holdings in a suit filed Friday in U.S. Middle District Court.

She is seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, claiming the defendants, through their false smears, have placed her in a false light with the public.

The judge attributes that conduct to her signing a bench warrant for Bozin’s arrest after he failed to appear for court proceedings.

The court complaint alleges that ever since the bench warrant was issued, Bozin has “embarked on a lie-filled attack” on her and demanded that the charges be dismissed.

The complaint also accuses Bozin of:

• Manipulating a grieving mother to falsely blame the judge of the unfortunate death of her son, while trying to blackmail Snyder County, the court and its judges in an attempt to have the charges withdrawn.
• Accusing Hackenberg of corruption and causing to be published a “change.org” petition to have her impeached, claiming she is receiving payments akin to two judges in Luzerne County who were convicted of taking kickbacks for imprisoning children in for-profit prisons.
• Fabricating claims that Hackenberg’s minor daughter had underage drinking parties at the residence.
