Pakistan to sell weapons worth $4 billion to Libya after Asim Munir makes false claim of destroying Rafale - The Economic Times

Pakistan and Libya have agreed on a significant military equipment deal worth over four billion dollars. Pakistan's Army Chief, General Asim Munir, met with Libyan commanders and discussed sharing technological advancements. The agreement includes fighter jets and trainer aircraft. This deal aims to expand Pakistan's defense exports and its influence in North Africa.

Pakistan and Libya have finalised a military equipment deal worth more than $4 billion, a Reuters report stated. The agreement was concluded after a meeting between Pakistan Army chief General Asim Munir and senior Libyan military leadership, even as Munir made false claims about Pakistan’s recent military performance in conflicts against India.

During the interaction with Libyan commanders, Munir said that removing fear allows a nation to achieve anything and added that Pakistan had learned this lesson long ago. He claimed Pakistan relied on 90 per cent indigenous technology during its recent conflict with India and asserted that Pakistan’s air force shot down Indian Rafale jets, Mirage 2000, Su-30 and MiG-29 aircraft, and destroyed the S-400 air defence system. Pakistan's claims of destroying Rafale, S 400 have been repeatedly rejected by India.

Munir also said he conveyed to Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), that Pakistan would share whatever technological equipment it possesses with Libya. He described Libya as a brotherly nation and said a strong armed...
