Parsons Whistleblower Fails to Revive Iraq Contract Fraud Suit - Bloomberg Law News

Parsons Corp. stopped a whistleblower’s bid to revive a False Claims Act suit alleging the contractor defrauded the government while performing a $60 million munitions clearing contract in Iraq, the Eleventh Circuit said Tuesday.

The appeals court found “no reversible error” in an Alabama federal district court’s decision to grant Parsons summary judgment, the per curiam opinion said.

Whistleblower Billy Joe Hunt had contended that the lower court erred in finding that he failed to establish several FCA elements, including falsity, intent, and materiality.
