TriMED HealthCare LLC and Beverly Jordan, its owner, have been ordered to pay more than $3.8 million in back wages and liquidated damages for allegedly denying 433 employees full overtime wages, the Labor Department said Tuesday.

The DOL’s Wage and Hour Division found the home care agency and Jordan allegedly lowered the regular rates when employees worked over 40 hours in a workweek to pay overtime compensation based on those rates, which concealed them paying all hours as straight time in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, according to the department.
