Perkeso recovers RM5.33 mil in Daya Kerjaya false claims - NST Online

KUALA LUMPUR: The Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) has recovered RM5.33 million from the Daya Kerjaya fund from 426 employers suspected of submitting false claims for the incentive.

Perkeso chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said another RM1.5 million had been voluntarily returned by 52 employers after they admitted their involvement in the fraudulent activities.

He said the falsified claims were detected by Perkeso's Anti-Fraud, Ethics and Integrity (AFEI) section at the end of 2024, prompting an internal investigation and field intelligence operations.

"Detailed intelligence gathered by AFEI found that 426 employers were suspected of being involved in the criminal activities before the case was referred to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in August 2025," he said in a statement today.

Azman said he subsequently instructed AFEI to work with the MACC on Op Daya, which was carried out on June 9.

"The success of the operation in uncovering the false claims syndicate was the result of Perkeso's existing governance framework, supported by artificial intelligence (AI) technology," he said.

On June 9, the MACC arrested 73 individuals, including agents and company owners, across the country except Perlis, on suspicion of involvement in a syndicate that allegedly falsified claims under the Career Incentive Programme 2.0 worth about RM9 million.
