A whistleblower suit accusing a Mississippi pharmacy of defrauding federal healthcare programs by paying kickbacks has ended with a nearly $27,000 recovery for the US government.
The estate of Robyn Turner moved Jan. 10 for voluntary dismissal of the False Claims Act suit against Gardens Pharmacy LLC, citing cost concerns. Judge Sul Ozerden of the US District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi granted the dismissal on Thursday.
The suit alleged the pharmacy’s sales teams received commissions for marketing higher-reimbursement compound drugs to prescribers, the court said.
