MINNEAPOLIS — A Minnesota-based physical therapy company has agreed to pay $4 million as part of a settlement of a civil case alleging the company violated the False Claims Act.
RehabAuthority LLC, which operates physical therapy clinics in Minnesota, North Dakota and Idaho, allegedly submitted false claims for payment to government organizations for outpatient therapy. A lawsuit filed against the company said RehabAuthority billed Medicare Part B, Minnesota Medicaid, TRICARE and the Veterans Health Administration for services but overbooked the government beneficiaries.
Acting U.S. Attorney W. Anders Folk of the District of Minnesota announced the settlement via press release last week.
