PIB debunks false claims on Delhi-Mumbai flight route, power grid cyberattack, drone strike - DD News

The Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check unit has debunked a claim circulating that the Delhi-Mumbai airline route is temporarily closed.

In a post on X, PIB Fact Check said the claim is “fake”. Instead, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has extended the temporary closure of 25 Air Traffic Service (ATS) route segments within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions due to operational reasons.

“It is being claimed that there is a temporary closure of services on the Delhi-Mumbai airline route. This claim is fake. The Airports Authority of India has extended the temporary closure of 25 segments of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes within the Delhi & Mumbai Flight Information Regions due to operational reasons,” it posted.

In another false claim, social media posts are asserting that a cyber attack by #Pakistan has caused 70% of India’s electricity grid to become dysfunctional. PIB Fact Check unit has also debunked this claim.

In its statement, the Ministry of Defence said, “Drones have been sighted at 26 locations along the International Border and Loc with Pakistan. These include suspected armed drones. The locations include Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet and Lakhi Nala.
