TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Pima County Recorder’s Office is addressing threats against election workers, sparked by misleading videos alleging election fraud.
The office emphasized that the individuals in the video were performing their lawful duties in compliance with Arizona state statutes and established election procedures.
The three employees in the video, including two supervisors, were responding to an emergency to clear an overfilled ballot box. They followed all necessary chain-of-custody protocols during the process.
The office clarified that these threats have been traumatizing for staff and their families. They urged the public to reject such rhetoric and encouraged constituents to contact them with any questions.
The Pima County Recorder’s Office also reminded the public that threatening a public servant is a serious criminal offense and may result in prosecution.
