National law firm Piper Alderman has moved to expand its employment relations team, with the appointment of a global rival’s head of employment, as well as his team.
Piper Alderman is growing its national employment relations practice, having appointed Mason Fettell as a partner in its Brisbane office.
Fettell comes across from global firm DWF, where he served as head of employment for nearly one-and-a-half years, and worked for over eight years. He has also brought his team with him to Piper Alderman, including senior associates Kelvin Lee and Ashleigh O’Connor, associate Sarah Kneipp, and paralegal Angelique Seinin.
The team, Piper Alderman outlined in a statement, brings extensive experience advising on employment, workplace health and safety (WHS) and regulatory matters across a broad range of industries, and will help enhance the firm’s national footprint and strengthen its ability to support clients across all major Australian markets. Fettell and his team have particular experience, the firm went on, in advising on complex employment and industrial relations disputes, workplace investigations and regulatory compliance, WHS incident response and prosecutions, enterprise bargaining and workforce strategy, and the management of ill and injured workers, terminations and organisational change.
The news follows Piper Alderman’s promotion of 27 professionals, including three to its partnership,in mid-June.
