A grand jury in Merrimack County has indicted a Pittsfield man for Medicaid fraud in connection with fake claims for medical transport services.
Kyle Perkins, 30, was indicted for Medicaid fraud, false claims, and for theft by unauthorized taking, according to a news release from the Attorney General’s office.
Authorities say Perkins fraudulently requested mileage reimbursement in 2020 and 2021 through the state’s Medicaid Family and Friends reimbursement program for medical visits that did not take place. The maximum penalty for conviction on each charge is 3 to 7 years in state prison and a $4,000 fine.
Perkins will be arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court on March 4.
The case was investigated by the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud control unit, and is being prosecuted by the AG’s office.
