A podiatrist will pay $7 million to resolve claims he violated the False Claims Act by submitting claims to health care programs for medically unnecessary and inappropriate levels of care between 2015 and 2019.

The federal government filed its complaint against Bryan Blanck on Tuesday, but this is actually “somewhat old news” because the settlement was finalized months ago in connection with an outstanding forfeiture case, said Blanck’s attorney, Elizabeth Stepp of Oberheiden PC in Dallas.
