Polk Sheriff's Office disputes claims about viral ICE arrest video - Lakeland Ledger

A viral video of two women being detained for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at HCA Poinciana on Aug. 20 has drawn thousands of views and hundreds of comments.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office states the facts being shared on social media about the women's arrests are "outright false," according to PCSO spokesman Brian Bruchey.

"The social media posts about this incident were incorrect/outright false about a lot of things," Bruchey wrote in an email to The Ledger.

The Ledger has requested a copy of the crash report and any supporting police affidavits from Polk County Sheriff's Office, and was denied under Florida Statute 316.066 citing certain reports are not public record for 60 days.

Viral video shows ICE arrest at HCA Poinciana

In a 2 minute, 42-second video shared on Facebook by Telemundo journalist Jessenia Hatti Barrett, two Polk deputies with a third unidentified man can be seen placing Grace Calero Cabanilla, 39, and her daughter Guilanna Carriel Calero, 19, into handcuffs at HCA Poinciana as they are arrested.
