Prince Harry’s Spare ghost writer has broken his silence after criticism of over factual errors and disputed claims in the book. The Duke of Sussex's tell-all memoir was released earlier this week amid a storm of controversy over the bombshell claims about the Royal Family and revealing confessions it contained.
But doubt has been cast over some of what is written in the book, with readers questioning the accuracy of some claims - and one or two are even proven to be false. Proven untrue anecdotes published in Spare include Harry being given an Xbox by his mum Princess Diana - years before the Microsoft gaming console was actually released, reported Birmingham Live.
Novelist and ghostwriter JR Moehringer has seemingly hit back at the criticism the 407-page book has come in for. He shared a series of quotes on relating to the fallibility of memory - including quotes from the book itself about the reliability of Harry's recollections.
Moehringer has tweeted quotes from Mary Karr book The Art of Memoir, one of which reads: "The line between memory and fact is blurry, between interpretation and fact. There are inadvertent mistakes of those kinds out the wazoo."
Another quote from the book read, in part: "We often record the emotion alone, all detail blurred into unreadable smear." The tweets came after he had posted passages from Spare.
