Amid the prosecution’s request for a bench warrant against Kim Se-ui, the representative of Hoverlab accused of defaming actor Kim Soo-hyun, the police concluded through their investigation that the claim of Kim Soo-hyun and late actor Kim Sae-ron dating during their minority was false.
On the 14th, the bench warrant application submitted by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station to the prosecution regarding the representative included the content that the representative spread false information about Kim Soo-hyun with the aim of profiting from YouTube. The police concluded, “The suspect distributed false information with the intent to defame (the actor), despite being fully aware that there was no fact that the late actor had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun since her minority.”
The police also determined that the KakaoTalk conversation content and the voice file of the deceased, which the representative publicly presented as evidence of the relationship between Kim Soo-hyun and late actor Kim Sae-ron, were fabricated. The bench warrant application stated, “The suspect, during a press conference on May 7 of last year, played a voice file of the deceased that was manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI) and made false statements to the effect that ‘the deceased had been in a relationship with the complainant since middle school and had their first sexual relationship during the winter break of their second year of middle school.’”
