According to the legal community on the 23rd, the Women and Children Crime Investigation Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office indicted Kim Se-ui in custody that day on charges including defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes, and violations of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes.
Kim is accused of repeatedly spreading false claims through YouTube broadcasts and other channels that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor, and that the cause of Kim Sae-ron's death was pressure from Kim Soo-hyun's side to repay debts.
He was also charged with threatening Kim Soo-hyun by releasing private photos without consent and demanding a public apology while suggesting that additional materials about his private life existed.
Earlier, police requested an arrest warrant after determining that Kim had produced the related videos even though he knew they were false, in order to attract public attention. Kim denied all charges, but the court issued the warrant, saying there was a risk of destroying evidence and fleeing.
