Ten prospective law school students are deferring pursuing their J.D.s to first complete a year of public service work at Am Law 50 law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges as part of its public service initiative—the Weil Legal Innovators Program (WLI)—which is now in its fourth year.

The students selected for this year’s class have deferred entering their first year of study at one of the WLI partner law schools to complete one year of public service at a WLI nonprofit partner organization, according to the firm’s announcement.
