Public Employee Assault Survivors Have Confidentiality Right - Bloomberg Law

Public employees who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or harassment have a substantive due process right to bar the state from disclosing their identity and work location, a Washington State appeals court affirmed.

But a group of more than 30 labor unions that won an injunction in the trial court on behalf of more than 1,000 employees failed to show an “individualized risk of bodily harm,” the Washington Court of Appeals, Division One said Monday.
