Rapid Manufacturing agreed to pay $800,000 to resolve claims the company violated California wage-and-hour laws by failing to pay workers properly.
The settlement benefits non-exempt California employees of Rapid Manufacturing and non-exempt employees of Affluent Staffing who were placed at Rapid Manufacturing in California between Aug. 9, 2015, and Nov. 5, 2022.
Rapid Manufacturing is a global manufacturing company with locations in California, New Hampshire, Mexico, and China. The company manufactures electronic wire and cable harnesses, electro-mechanical parts and box build assemblies.
According to a class action lawsuit, Rapid Manufacturing fails to properly pay its workers regular wages, minimum wages and overtime wages. In addition, the company allegedly fails to provide proper rest and meal breaks, accurate wage statements, expense reimbursements and other employment benefits.
Plaintiffs in the wage-and-hour class action lawsuit claim these failures violated California labor laws. California has some of the strictest labor laws in the country and imposes steep penalties on violators. The state also has a unique Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) that allows workers to bring wage-and-hour claims on behalf of the state’s labor authority.
Rapid Manufacturing hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $800,000 to resolve these allegations.
