Ratcliffe: Congress kept in dark about Clinton scheme to 'fake' Trump-Russia ties - New York Post

Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said Monday that when he took over the post in the spring of 2020, he found no evidence that then-President Donald Trump colluded with the Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign — but there was intelligence of “fake Trump-Russia collusion” pushed by Hillary Clinton and her loyalists.

“The first thing I said was, ‘Look, I’d like to see all of the intelligence we have on Trump Russia collusion,'” Ratcliffe recalled in an interview on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

“And the answer was, ‘We don’t have any,'” he added. “Not ‘a little bit,’ but ‘We don’t have any.’

“And that’s why [former FBI Director] Jim Comey and [former CIA Director] John Brennan and [former Director of National Intelligence] James Clapper, when all [were] pressed under oath [and asked], ’Is there evidence of Trump Russia collusion?,’ they all said, ‘No, there isn’t,'” Ratcliffe went on.

Ratcliffe, who came to the DNI job after serving more than five years as a Republican congressman from Texas, told host Laura Ingraham that what he and his staff did find was “intelligence that Hillary Clinton had a plan to create this narrative, this false Trump-Russia connection.”

Among the documents that Ratcliffe declassified relating to the investigation in the fall of 2020 were handwritten notes from Brennan, who briefed President Barack Obama of “alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on July 26, 2016 of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to...
