FINKSBURG, Md. —
A "Real Housewives" star and her husband were arrested in Carroll County on allegations they lied about a burglary, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
Wendy and Edward Osefo were arrested Thursday, the sheriff said in a statement.
Wendy Osefo, 40, was indicted on seven counts of insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one count of false statement to a police officer, according to court documents obtained by WBAL-TV 11 News. She has been one of the main cast members of "The Real Housewives of Potomac" since joining the show in 2020.
Edward Osefo, 41, was indicted on nine counts of insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and one count of false statement to a police officer, the court documents show.
In a statement, Wendy and Edward Osefo said: "Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues. The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead."
Burglary, theft report in 2024 leads to investigation
The sheriff's office said deputies were called on April 7, 2024, to the couple's house on Turnberry Court in Finksburg for a reported burglary and theft.
