Rebel Wilson’s bombshell lawsuit claim - News.com.au

Australian star Rebel Wilson has claimed she is a “whistleblower” on alleged sexual misconduct, embezzlement and bullying surrounding the controversial development of her film, The Deb, in a bombshell interview with 60 Minutes.

The Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids star has been at the centre of a bizarre legal battle surrounding the development of her directorial debut – a comedy musical about two teenage girls attending a debutante ball in a small Australian country town.

The allegations raised by both sides are untested.

Ms Wilson claimed her film was initially blocked from screening at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2024, before an 11th hour reversal occurred.

She took to Instagram with shocking allegations she “discovered bad behaviour” towards one of the film’s lead actors and that funds allocated for The Deb were being embezzled, naming three producers – Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron and executive producer Vince Holden – in a video to her 11 million followers.

The trio have vigorously denied the accusations and filed defamation proceedings against the Aussie A-lister in the Los Angeles County of the Superior Court of California.

In court documents seen by NewsWire, Ms Ghost, Mr Cameron and Mr Holden allege Ms Wilson “has a history of fabricating false and malicious lies to hide her own lack of professionalism and advance her own self-interest”.

They allege Ms Wilson sought to claim a writing credit for the film from her “protégé” and demanded the plaintiffs...
