ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (November 7, 2023) – Congratulations to our Recorder of Deeds Office for being recognized for their hard work with their Vacant Properties Initiative.
Fidlar Technologies recently awarded the office $1,000 to give to the charity of their choice. Our Recorder of Deeds Office decided to donate that money to Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, which provides legal help to low-income families or individuals.
The Vacant Properties Initiative addresses vacant properties, delinquent taxes, property fraud, and heirs title issues. This can help address historical disparities in property ownership and foster increased homeownership among minority households.
The initiative has already helped resolve title issues for 80 households, providing legal and County support.
By collaborating between the St. Louis County Recorder's Office and Collector of Revenue's Office, property fraud awareness and tax compliance have also increased.
