A BRITISH woman who falsely accused a UK banker of rape has been jailed in Hong Kong for six years.
Isabel Rose from Hackney, East London, was convicted of blackmail and perverting the course of justice after she demanded 100,000 from the man she accused.
She blew kisses and waved to her mum as she was led away, with Judge Adriana Noelle Tse Ching saying she had “not shown an iota of remorse for her wicked behaviour”.
The 26-year-old was handed her guilty verdict after a six-day trial in March, which laid bare her twisted plot.
Rose met the man she accused, known as X at the trial, while travelling in Thailand and flew to Hong Kong to meet him in 2024.
The pair spent the night of February 1 together, with Rose filing a false report that she had been raped in the days that followed.
Although the unnamed individual was initially arrested, he was reportedly released without charge.
In a shocking twist, Rose was then charged with one count of blackmail and one count of perverting the course of justice.
The court ruled the pair had “engaged in consensual intimate acts” that night.
It added that a medical examination carried out at the time “could not confirm or disprove whether sexual intercourse had taken place”.
Days after the alleged assault, Rose asked the man for 5,000, which he sent, later demanding 100,000 while threatening to go to the police.
At the trial, Rose’s lawyer pleaded for leniency based on her clean criminal record and status as a foreigner.
