Ribery to take legal action over false Epstein claims - BeSoccer Livescore

Reports circulating on social media have implicated the former French international, prompting a strong response from the 42-year-old ex-Bayern Munich midfielder.

Ribery's lawyer, Carlo Alberto Brusa, confirmed on Tuesday that the allegations are "false information" and stem from an anonymous document in the Epstein archives dated 2019.

"Through this statement, Mr Franck Ribery reacts with the utmost firmness to these claims, which originate from a complaint letter sent to the US justice system on 12 November 2019," Brusa said.

He added that the circulation of such reports cannot be justified as free speech and described the situation as a "settling of scores."

Ribery retired in 2022 after a decorated career with Bayern Munich and the French national team.

Off the pitch, he was previously involved in the high-profile Zahia affair alongside Karim Benzema, a case concerning alleged relations with a minor in 2009. Both players were acquitted by a French court in 2014.

The French midfielder has categorically rejected any connection to Epstein, emphasising that he intends to pursue a formal complaint to defend his reputation against what he describes as "entirely false" allegations.
