Richland County woman faces multiple insurance fraud charges - WLTX

SLED says a Columbia woman is accused of filing false claims and using fake documents in an insurance scheme.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A Richland County woman is facing multiple charges tied to alleged fraudulent insurance claims, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Authorities said Tayler Nicole Hall, 27, was charged March 31, 2026, with Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment – Value More Than $2,000 but Less Than $10,000, Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment – Value $2,000 or Less, and two counts of Forgery – Value Less Than $10,000. She was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

SLED later charged Hall with an additional count of Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment – Value More Than $2,000 but Less Than $10,000 on April 1, 2026. She was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.

The investigation was requested by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.

According to arrest warrants, the charges stem from multiple incidents between 2021 and 2022.

Investigators said on July 26, 2021, Hall filed a police report with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department claiming a burglary at her residence. That report was submitted to USAA Insurance as part of a claim and was later determined to be fraudulent. Authorities said Hall obtained an “underserved economic advantage” of $5,000 and later provided a voluntary recorded statement admitting she filed numerous fraudulent claims.
