Risk of Litigation Doesn't Trigger California Anti-SLAPP Law - Bloomberg Law

A married couple in California lost a bid to toss out their former nanny’s wage-and-hour lawsuit, including the nanny’s defamation claim for statements they allegedly made during pre-suit settlement talks.

Jewel Nirschl’s employment as a nanny with Zachary and Jacquelynn Schiller came to an acrimonious end. The Schillers asked Alice Fox, the head of the nanny placement service which had helped hire Nirschl, to propose a deal to the nanny. She would release potential claims against them in exchange for a severance payment.
