The revelation of John Tory’s relationship with a former staffer has raised questions about the ethics of a workplace romance where a power imbalance is in play.
While many of these relationships don’t violate any policy or law, it becomes problematic when it happens between an executive and a subordinate, as in the case of the mayor and the 31-year-old woman who had worked in his office, some legal experts say.
