Russia cynically justifies strikes on passenger trains: New false claims - ТСН

Russian propaganda is attempting to justify strikes on the Ukrainian railway with false claims that civilian rolling stock was supposedly handed over to the military.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

According to the Center, enemy resources are spreading the thesis that Ukrzaliznytsia is canceling routes in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions due to the transfer of trains to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, the propagandists provide zero evidence for these claims.

The CCD emphasizes that the real reason for cancellations or schedule changes is systematic Russian shelling of infrastructure, not military use of the carriages. Russian propaganda deliberately ignores the fallout of its own attacks, which damage tracks and rolling stock.

Center analysts say that through these manipulations, the Kremlin is attempting to legitimize war crimes, including:

- targeted strikes on railway hubs;

- shelling of stations;

- attacks on passenger trains.

Justifying strikes on civilian targets as "military necessity" is part of Russia’s information campaign aimed at concealing direct attacks on civilians and Ukraine’s logistics network.
