This was reported on Facebook by the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.

Propagandists are spreading fake reports about the alleged downing of Ukrainian drones and claims that Hungarian military forces are deploying combat equipment and aircraft to the border with Ukraine.

The Center verified the claims with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and confirmed that the situation on the Ukraine-Hungary border remains calm, with no incidents recorded.

The Center emphasizes that such disinformation efforts aim to divert international attention from Russia’s own sabotage of diplomatic initiatives to end the war.

By creating a false impression of potential escalation on the Ukraine-Hungary border, Russian propaganda seeks to destabilize the information space and spread panic among the public.

As previously reported, the Center for Countering Disinformation has debunked false claims about Hungarian forces allegedly shooting down Ukrainian drones and moving armored vehicles toward the Ukrainian border.
