Russia spreads false claims about double standards in counting killed journalists - mezha.net

Kyiv’s disinformation center reports that Russian diplomatic channels push misleading claims about journalists to obscure military ties and shape global opinion.

Russia is disseminating statements about alleged “double standards” of international institutions in counting journalists who have died, using information manipulation in Telegram channels of Russian diplomatic missions.

The Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine notes that such messages appear precisely in these channels and are based on distortions of facts.

“Russian diplomatic missions are spreading messages about alleged ‘double standards’ of international organizations in counting journalists killed. They manipulate the fact that a number of Russian war correspondents killed in the combat zone were not included in international lists of journalists who died while performing their professional duties.”
