Russia spreads false claims of Ukrainian nuclear provocation - RBC-Ukraine

Ahead of negotiations between the Ukrainian and US delegations in Saudi Arabia, Russian propaganda has launched fake reports about Ukraine allegedly preparing a nuclear provocation at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, the Center for Countering Disinformation of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council reports.

In particular, Russian propagandists claim that the "Kyiv regime is allegedly preparing a provocation at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant."

"Such statements have no connection to reality. Moreover, this is far from the first time Russians have attempted to spread such disinformation," the Ukrainian Center stated.

The Center for Countering Disinformation explained that the goal of such fabrications ahead of the negotiations in Saudi Arabia is to create the illusion that Ukraine does not actually seek peace and is willing to engage in any provocations to disrupt the talks.

In reality, the Kremlin aims to weaken Ukraine's position before the negotiations and to drive a wedge between Kyiv and Washington.

Negotiations in Saudi Arabia

Today, March 11, negotiations are taking place in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) between the Ukrainian and American delegations. The discussions are expected to include military aid for Ukraine from the US and the exchange of intelligence data between the two countries.

The Ukrainian delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, and Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
