Two women and the Salvation Army settled a lawsuit on Tuesday over allegations that an employee sent sexually explicit messages to a teenage girl.
The settlement also marks the final resolution of two countersuits, one claiming the girl’s mother knew and failed to report the sexual abuse and another claiming that suit was intended to intimidate.
Attorney Boz Tchividjian, who represented the alleged victim, said all the parties requested the federal judge in Louisville, Kentucky, dismiss the case.
“The case was dismissed following a settlement that will provide our client with meaningful support as she continues her healing journey and moves forward with her life,” Tchividjian told Roys Report (RR).
Riley and her mother, Terri Neville, previously claimed that the Salvation Army, a Christian nonprofit that works in 134 countries, failed to protect Riley from divisional music director Joel Collier.
