San Antonio law firm employees fired, sued over boss’ private Zoom call - San Antonio Express-News

Employees of a San Antonio law firm have been fired and sued for allegedly surreptitiously obtaining a transcript of their boss’ private Zoom call.

The Tessmer Law Firm PLLC canned Serafina Favaro and Judith Clark on Sept. 23 and sued them three days later over the alleged incident. Another employee named in the suit, Jacqueline Cisneros, resigned from the firm Sept. 22, according to owner Heather Clement Tessmer.

The case may just be the start of the three women’s legal troubles, though.

In an affidavit, Tessmer, 58, says she contacted the FBI and the San Antonio Police Department and a criminal investigation into the women’s alleged activities is now underway.

Tessmer — who promotes her law firm with the slogan “Ever argue with a woman?” — declined to discuss the case when reached Friday.

Cisneros, 37, has been the firm’s finance director and part of its leadership team, according to its website. Efforts to reach her for comment were unsuccessful.

Favaro, 26, was a billing specialist and had been at the firm for three years, her LinkedIn page shows. Reached for comment, she said she was uncomfortable speaking without legal counsel.

Clark, 23, had worked as an administrative assistant at the firm for about a year and a half. She couldn’t be reached.

According to the lawsuit, Tessmer on Sept. 22 held a “private and confidential meeting” over Zoom with two other members of her firm’s senior legal team, Katherine Flores and Mariana Trevino.
