WASHINGTON (TNND) — A new report alleged an intelligence officer who worked for Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee warned FBI investigators that California Sen. Adam Schiff authorized the leak of classified information over the Russia collusion “hoax” in 2017.
If this is true, this is absolutely shocking,” former FBI special agent in charge Jody Weis said Tuesday during a one-on-one interview with The National News Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat.
Leaking information is a crime -- no doubt about it. Leaking information with the intent to smear a president – with the intent to perhaps indict a president – that should terrify every American in this country, regardless of party,” he added. “If you think about it, though, I say I’m shocked and maybe I’m not because it kind of aligns with the referrals from [U.S. Director of National Intelligence] Tulsi Gabbard, all with the intent to undermine an incoming president.”
Weis went on to say that if the allegation is true and is, in fact, tied to the information Gabbard released, it’s a conspiracy.
“Then, the statute of limitation is no longer an issue,” he said. “So, I think as Americans we just have to be patient and let the investigators follow the evidence. But this is a shocking revelation.”
