Janice Combs, the mother of the titular figure of Netflix's Sean Coombs: The Reckoning, rushes to her son's defense, claiming that the docuseries is inaccurate and is hurting her family.
Janice released an exclusive statement to Deadline, setting the record straight about the false information that was presented in the Netflix show. She insisted that Sean Combs: The Reckoning was filled with lies about Sean's childhood, his personal life, and her image. She added how the fake narrative that the streaming platform is trying to sell was done on purpose to make her and her son look bad. Janice also slammed the dishonesty of the people behind the docuseries.
I am writing this statement to correct some of the lies presented in the Netflix, Sean Coombs: The Reckoning, released on December 2, 2025. These inaccuracies regarding my son Sean’s upbringing and family life is intentionally done to mislead viewers and further harm our reputation.
Janice explained how she spent nearly every day in the courtroom with her grandchildren throughout her son's trial. During that time, she was forced to listen to allegations of her son's drug use, acts of violence, and being a sex trafficker which was traumatizing enough. The "false" statements are just making things worse. She is also convinced that 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) is lying for the sole purpose of hurting Sean because the two don't get along, to say the least.
