A Secret Service whistleblower told Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley that former President Joe Biden was so disoriented during his time in office that he would “get lost in his closet” inside the White House, the senator said Friday.
The whistleblower, who was allegedly assigned to the president’s protective detail, made the claim during conversations Hawley had while investigating assassination attempts against then-former President Donald Trump. Hawley shared the account during an appearance on Fox News with host Sean Hannity.
“He told me that Biden used to get lost in his closet in the mornings at the White House,” Hawley said. “The president of the United States. This is outrageous.” (RELATED: Biden Gives First Update On Cancer Treatment)
The disclosure comes amid multiple ongoing congressional investigations into Biden’s mental fitness while serving as president as well as questions about how much control his staff may have exercised over White House operations.
Republican Kentucky House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is leading a probe into the use of an autopen by Biden’s staff to sign official documents, including pardons and executive orders, potentially without Biden’s direct involvement. Comer has also requested testimony from Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the White House physician during Biden’s administration, raising concerns over the accuracy of the medical reports provided to the public.
