Secretlab US inflates the original price of its Secretlab Gaming Chairs in order to present online discounts that appear to be a greater value than they actually are, a new class action lawsuit alleges.
Plaintiff Sean Nugent claims Secretlab Gaming Chairs sold on Secretlab’s website have a listed original price that they were either never actually sold at or only sold at for an “inconsequential period of time.”
Nugent argues the “false discounts” offered by Secretlab are an illegal marketing tactic used to “convince” consumers that they are getting a big discount and should make a purchase before the item “goes back to its original price.”
“This practice is consistent across the Products sold by Secretlab, and Secretlab continued to engage in this deceptive marketing practice for years,” states the Secretlab class action.
Nugent wants to represent a California class and California consumer subclass of individuals who have purchased a Secretlab Gaming Chair within the applicable statute of limitations period.
