The security guard at the center of the controversial São Paulo, Brazil hotel incident involving Chappell Roan, Jude Law’s 11-year-old daughter and the girl’s influencer mother is backing up the singer’s statement that he was not part of her personal security team and she had no idea there had been a problem with them.

While Duvier said he took “full responsibility” for the incident with Ada and Harding, he also said he was at the hotel on behalf of “another individual,” not Roan or her security team. Duvier explained that he had received information from the hotel about unspecified security concerns, had witnessed unspecified incidents in the days prior and had been made aware of the “heightened overall security risk” at their location, which prompted him to make “a judgement call.”
