The organisation described the report as false and a figment of the writer’s imagination. The buildup to Osun 2026 governorship election has given rise to many fabricated stories and baseless allegations aimed at tarnishing the image of Senator Basiru, a leading aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC). The most recent lies are claims that he is courting Aregbesola for reconciliation to support his aspiration and he criticised President Bola Tinubu on the visit of Governor Ademola Adeleke and his family him as reported by Daily Post.
Basiru refutes this claim, saying Osun APC is not in crisis, and he never made comments about the visit.
