Shell Oil and refinery workers who say it owes them wages for standby periods may move forward with a $3.2 million settlement after a federal judge in California signed off on the deal.
The settlement represents about 37% of the total exposure Equilon Enterprises LLC—which did business as Shell Oil Products US—faced if the workers succeeded on their wage-and-hour claims at trial, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said.
