By Breaking Belize News Staff: Shyne Barrow’s attorneys have written to the Belize News Network demanding an apology for making “false claims.”

“The statements posted on the Belize News Network page in their plain and ordinary meaning were to falsely lead to make the public to believe that:

1. That our Client refused to return his diplomatic passport; 2. That our Client stole property of the Government of Belize;
2. That therefore our client has committed theft and not complied;

We strongly aver that those are total falsehoods and Mr. Barrow categorically denies these incorrect statements,” the letter said.

Barrow’s attorneys say that he “voluntarily returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs his diplomatic passport in a sealed envelope addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This was done prior to your libelous article being posted.”

Barrow’s attorney’s demand for the immediate removal of the statement, a retraction and apology and to pay a sum for damages to their client’s reputation.
