Singapore law firm Donaldson & Burkinshaw has hired Lynn Ariele Soh as a partner in its corporate and commercial practice, marking her return to the firm 16 years after she began her legal career there.
Soh, who joins from BTPLaw, will also serve as team lead of the firm's M&A and employment practice. She has more than 15 years of experience spanning general corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, employment law and corporate governance.
Soh regularly advises start-ups, venture capital firms, individual investors, small and medium-sized enterprises and multinational corporations on general corporate matters, fundraising, acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate governance.
On the employment side, she counsels companies on long-term incentive plans, including employee share option plans, restricted share units and deferred compensation arrangements, as well as responsible retrenchment and wrongful dismissal claims, and frequently trains regional HR and senior management teams on Singapore employment law.
Soh, who started her career at Donaldson & Burkinshaw, also worked at WongPartnership and the legacy Allen & Overy prior to an in-house stint at Fullerton Health. In 2018, she joined PwC Legal member firm Eng and Co as a director, before moving to BTPLaw in 2024.
In 2020, she was named as one of the ALB Asia 40 Under 40, and was a part of the Singapore Rising Stars list in 2023.
